Research shows menu printing is a leading cost in the food industry, with high-end restaurants facing the added challenge of constantly changing food items due to seasonal ingredients, culinary trends, etc.

Given this, implementing a digital capability allows these restaurants to cut down on printing and distribution costs, while leveraging the flexibility of integrated menu features for accessibility and awareness. However, this solution creates a contradiction: how do you implement a digital menu interface in fine dining without creating an impersonal or casual atmosphere that technology fosters?

I sought to address this paradox by translating typical customer-server interactions into a digital environment while maintaining elements of human communication.
